本来前几天宿舍通网的时候就应该马上更新这里的，无奈自己实在太懒了……到伦敦以来发生的事情太多了，先写个简要的回顾吧。

 

8月23日

北京时间 3:30  起床，吃饭

4:30  到达首都机场，办登机手续

8:00  我们乘坐的英航波音777飞机从机场起飞

伦敦时间

11:00  飞机在Heathrow机场降落

12:00  通过各项检查，走出机场国际出口，等待Hotelink的班车，被告知行李太大，必须等一辆大车。于是开始漫长的等待……

16:30  班车终于把我们送到了High Holborn Residence。同行mm的一个先期到达伦敦的朋友一直在那里等着，和她们一起吃了到达伦敦后的第一顿饭，逛超市。。。

 

8月24日 上午去了趟LSE。下午想去当地警察局注册，结果到了地方被告知必须去一个比较大的Office……途中看到了很多很眼熟的建筑，以及泰晤士河、London eye之类的。可惜那天没有带着景点介绍，很多地方都不知道是什么。路上还遇到了某个组织在大街上游行抗议斯里兰卡政府没有人权（其实对这种事挺反感的，在一个国家里抗议另一个国家的政府算什么本事啊。。。）

 

8月25日 坐地铁去警察局注册，路遇好心人一直把我们护送到警察局门口

 

8月26日  想去一家比较大的Tesco买个锅，结果路上下雨，躲进了大英博物馆里。这里的Tesco实在太小了，很令人失望。没买到锅，倒是一不小心走到了China town，在那买了个手机卡。。。另外发现Argos是个不错的店

 

8月27日  参观Buckingham Palace，看到了换岗仪式，还参观了National Gallery，Westminster Abbey，Houses of Parliament (Big Ben)，Whitehall等等。还在St James Park里惬意的躺了一会儿。

 

8月28日  坐公交车到Knightsbridge，一路参观Victoria & Albert Museum, Natual History Museum, Science Museum, 路过了Imperial College，然后到Hyde park野餐（其实就是一个自治的汉堡包），最后从Oxford St.一直走回High Holborn。这一天路走得确实多了点。

 

8月30日  到City of London地区参观，两次走过泰晤士河。著名景点包括St Paul's Cathedral, Millennium Bridge, Tate Modern, London Bridge, Tower of London, Bank of England Museum等等，另外还瞻仰了一下伦敦中心的金融区

 

8月31日  继续参观大英博物馆

 

9月1日  注册——发现LSE的中国学生还真是不少

 

9月2日  睡觉，帮另一个mm修电脑……无趣的一天

拿到签证了，一直悬着的心也总算放下来了

en, 现在材料准备好了。唯一可能出问题的地方是现在我还只有conditional offer。而最讨厌的是那些condition里还包括“必须9月份去上数学课”。也就是说，只有我到了英国才能拿到unconditional offer, 而显然unconditional offer对申请签证更有利一些……不管了，反正去交了材料就听天由命了。

偶然用了一下“文语通”。这是一个Text to Speech软件，也就是把文本转换为语音。

 

其实Windows XP里是自带TTS的，不过读出来的声音很难听。而这个软件的NB之处在于，基于科大的一项技术，它可以分析句子的语法结构，从而使读出来的文字带有一定的抑扬顿挫。

 

我用的是软件的1.0版。据说现在已经出到4.0了。不过就算是1.0，听上去的感觉已经相当好了。以后看文章看累了就可以用它把文章读出来。
